Editorial

Next Generation Networks (NGNs) are now becoming a popular means of transport for all services and applications. Moreover, telecoms have started to migrate from traditional networks to high performance, profitable and architecturally evolved networks. The migration towards Next Generation Networks alters the network topology and, thus, involves several structural changes such as a reorganisation of core networks and their hierarchy levels.  This will, actually, have an impact on the services provided by these new networks both at the level of the functionalities offered and at the level of the possibility of creating new services so far inconceivable. This international conference, which is an initiative of the e-NGN research group, is an opportunity for researchers and academicians to share their insight and knowledge in all areas related to new generation networks and services.

Indeed, it covers a broad spectrum of topics such as Web Based Systems, Mobile Computing and applications, QoS and Performance Evaluations, and Distributed Systems. For this year’s edition, we received more than 100 abstracts and papers from all over the world. After the review process, 26 full papers and 17 short papers have been accepted for presentation in the conference. Four distinguished keynote speakers are invited to give lectures on pertinent issues of research and innovation on information technology, web accessibility guidelines, and new trends in Wireless and Mobile Communication Networks. We hope that the collection of papers presented in the CD Rom proceedings will contribute in stimulating debate amongst scholars, researchers and academicians and we aspire that you find them interesting and thought-provoking.

We would like to congratulate the authors for their valuable contribution and we are grateful to our general chairs, track chairs, program committee chairs and the reviewers for having read and commented on the papers. Our most sincere thanks go to all keynote speakers who shared with us their expertise and knowledge.

We would also like to express our gratitude and indebtedness to Professor Radouane Mrabet Director of ENSIAS (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Informatique et d’Analyse des Systèmes), Rabat, Morocco, for his help and support.  We are equally grateful to all the sponsors, namely Mohammed V Souissi University, Maroc Telecom, AAGI, IEEE Education section, GUIDE association, EATIS.org, EMI and APRIMT, for their technical and financial support. We would also like to express our gratitude to all the members of the Organizing Committee for the efforts they have made before and during the conference.

We look forward to meeting you all in the next NGNS 2010 conference.
